Asana Onishi is a solo pianist, chamber musician, and educator based in Los Angeles, California. She has performed extensively throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.

She holds a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from Northwestern University, where she studied with José Ramón Méndez, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Michigan, where she studied with Christopher Harding. She also studied at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg, Germany, with Gilead Mishory.

Asana made her concerto debut at age eleven with the Los Angeles Bach Orchestra and has since performed throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. She has been recognized in numerous competitions, including the Seattle International Piano Competition, the Liszt International Competition, and the Weatherford International Competition. She has also performed at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York and has toured Japan as a solo and collaborative pianist.

Since 2010, Asana has been teaching private piano lessons to students of all ages and levels. Her teaching combines strong technical foundations with creativity, musical expression, and individualized guidance to help each student reach their goals and develop confidence at the piano.

Outside of music, Asana enjoys traveling, listening to podcasts, and spending time with her niece and nephew.
